ECO LODGE - Off Grid Retreat, Salisbury, UK

ECO LODGE - Off Grid Retreat, Salisbury, UK by Satelitte Architects. The Eco Lodge is a zero carbon, sustainable, off-grid project which acts as an educational retreat in the wood. It is constructed from the wood in which it is located and takes on a form generated from the three trees defining the immediate site. The lodge is designed to take advantage of the sun paths and natural ventilation of the wider site. Its structure is built of green oak with larch cladding for the exterior and scott’s pine for the internal cladding and flooring. The project meets Code for Sustainable Homes Level 5, includes solar thermal systems, a photo voltaic array and wood burning stoves with back boilers for water and space heating. All the water harvested from the roof is stored for use in a 9000 litre tank and the project has self composting WC’s, hemp and cotton insulation, a cob-block thermal mass structure and uses local sustainable products in all aspects of the build.
Location: Salisbury

Country: Zimbabwe
