A BLUE AND WHITE CUSHION-SHAPED RECTANGULAR BOX AND A COVER WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE RECTANGLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619) The cover painted on top with two dragons contesting a flaming pearl within a quatrefoil cartouche reserved on a rectangular diaper ground above panels of fruiting peach trees within raised borders on the rounded sides and panels of babao and lingzhi fungus at the indented corners, with a band of penciled scrolls at the rim, the box painted with panels of birds perched in blossoming and fruiting branches on the sides and flower sprigs at the corners below a band of similar penciled scrolls, raised on a foot of corresponding shape
