A perfectly magnificent service of twelve grand napkins loomed of the finest grade of pure white linen damask and with an extraordinary monogram, "EV," hand embroidered in their center. The monogram is outlined in extremely fine points of plumetis, filled in with the tiniest dots of post point, and delightfully ornamented with festive sprays of lilac. A luxuriant border of lilac vines in the damask motif frames each napkin, with individual flowers dotting the interior. This service, likely dating from the early 20th century, is of truly exceptional quality in every respect and remains in impeccable, little or unused condition. Dimensions: 35.5 x 29.5in.
