VIENNA (SORGENTHAL) PINK-GROUND CABINET-CUP AND SAUCER 1802-1803, BLUE SHIELD MARKS, IMPRESSED 802 AND 47 TO CUP, IMPRESSED 803 AND 51 TO SAUCER, GILDER'S 96 MARKS The cup with a gilt angular handle, the front finely painted with 'Cupid Disarmed' after Angelica Kauffmann, signed Lieb., within a raised-gilt canted rectangular cartouche, the reverse with acanthus leaves en grisaille on shaped brown panels intersected with a broad gilt band decorated with ruby beads and stiff leaves, the saucer similarly decorated with radiating pink and brown panels centred by acanthus reserved on a richly-gilt circular panel, within gilt rims (very slight wear to gilding)
