TWO MEISSEN CHINOISERIE TEABOWLS AND TWO SAUCERS CIRCA 1725, GILDER'S 100. TO TEABOWLS AND 26. TO SAUCERS, DREHER'S .. TO ONE TEABOWL AND TO THE OTHER TEABOWL AND SAUCERS Painted in the manner of J.G. Höroldt with Orientals at various pursuits, each teabowl with two panels of figures taking tea and with fly whisks beside furniture and flowering plants on terraces within gilt line quatrefoil cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels, gilt scrolls and iron-red and purple Laub-und-Bandelwerk, the interiors with an Oriental fisherman beside a pagoda within concentric iron-red lines, the border with a broad band of interlocking gilt scrollwork, one saucer with an Oriental seated before a low table with a steaming vase, the other with a standing Oriental holding a hoop for a dog, both among flowering plants on terraces within shaped quatrefoil panels with gilt scrollwork and Böttger-lustre panels and iron-red foliage scrolls, the border with a band of gilt scrollwork, the underside of the saucers with three concentric iron-red circles (wear to gilt wells of saucers) (4)
