Carole Waller
Carole Waller (born 1956) is an internationally renowned painted textile artist. She works in a variety of media, mostly textile and laminated glass, to create vibrantly colored painted cloth and unframed installations which can be suspended in space. In her most recent works she often uses glass because it offers "new possibilities for making work public sites because it transforms the transparent etched cloth into resilient architectural structures." She studied painting at Canterbury College of Arts and worked with art fibers at Cranbrook Academy of Arts, Michigan. Her first creations in 1986 were sold under the name "I'm No Walking Canvas."
